Where children become artists

At the painting workshop on Schlossplatz, children can paint their own wooden figures using paint, brushes and a bit of patience. Also on offer: the nostalgic carousel, the mini train and the Christmas tree maze with over 300 trees.

The Lantern Trail

70 lanterns, a quiet winter’s evening, the view over Berchtesgaden. From the Weihnachtsschützenplatz, past the Kalvarienberg to the Chapel of the Beatitudes — a route that brings Advent to life.

Getting here, parking, guided tour of the historic centre. For groups of 20 or more, every guest will receive a free Advent mug from our limited-edition collection.

Craftsmanship you can smell

Woodturners, nativity scene makers, box makers. The Woodworkers’ Guild showcases the crafts that have been created here for centuries — between the huts, you’ll come across the magnificent figures that epitomise Berchtesgaden’s craftsmanship.

From the region

Mulled wine from local winegrowers, pan-fried Kiachl, mountain cheese and bratwurst. Many of the family-run businesses bring their specialities directly from the Berchtesgadener Land region.

Wind ensembles, Alpine folk music, and the traditional Advent singing at the Alpencongress. Particularly at Advent weekends, on St Nicholas’ Day and between Christmas and New Year.
